Julie Szarowski-Cox, PhD
I am a New York State Licensed Psychologist with a Master's degree in Art Therapy. I earned my doctorate degree from the University at Buffalo in Counseling Psychology and have a graduate degree in Art Therapy from Nazareth College. I specialize in working with adults (18+) experiencing depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, trauma and/or adjusting to life transitions, health concerns, and grief/loss. I utilize treatment modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Art Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Services
I provide individual counseling to Adults (18+). I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions.
I am able to accept Highmark/BCBS, Independent Health, United Healthcare, Aetna and Univera. I am unable to take Medicaid/Medicare insurance plans.
If I am out-of-network with your insurance provider, my fee is $215 for the intake session and $180 for subsequent sessions.
There are times during our lives when we may benefit from talking with someone to explore our thoughts, emotions, and experiences related to transitions, trauma, loss, and other challenges. Often, thoughts, emotions, perceptions and environmental factors can interfere with our ability to reach our full potential. I view our work together as a shared journey toward your ideal self. I work to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your present experiences and work toward who you want to be. Together, we will work on clarifying your values and goals and help you move toward them in meaningful ways.
